Being a war history buff, I follow a lot of channels but my favourite Vietnam War channel is by far https://www.instagram.com/vietnam.365days/ . Michael is a true guy with no bullshit. Check his posts and read them...all of them. He posts pics from his tour in Nam and describes them in his own way. It feels like you are standing next to him in time. It can feel awkward, rude, but it's just honest. It's Michael. He fills his days with a lot o surfing, and we talk once in a while. He helped me out with all my surfing questions, so I made this for him as a little counter gift for his time. It was a bit of a gamble because there is no manual about what a veteran likes or dislikes. How much war to put in...less?...more? But he loved it. I asked him about his favourite shark which was the great white one and him having a lot of surf boards I asked for pics of his most prized boards which I then incorporated in the drawing. Also, you can't design any Vietnam War art without a good old Huey UH-1H, the absolute work horse of that jungle conflict. A little Woefie-art magic later and this was the result. I was super stoked when he told me he loved it. Sometimes it just feels good trading some time for someone else's time. It just feels good.
